The National Flood School has a brand-new purpose-built training facility at our central location in Howberry Park, Oxford; we were honoured to be asked by HR Wallingford to re-locate here. HR Wallingford are leaders and independent experts in living & working sustainably with water; protecting communities, the natural environment and designing resilient infrastructure.

The training school has a modern classroom facility to comfortably fit 30 participants with onsite catering facilities & plenty of nearby accommodation venues. Our hands on flood house has incorporated many of the usual construction materials in walls & floors found in domestic UK houses.

We can demonstrate leaks from pipes from ceiling height, leaks within walls & our flood resilient kitchen will fill with up to 100mm of water from a 10,000 litre tank. This also allows us to show flood barriers, water resilient kitchen units, sump pumps and other flood protection products.

Once the house has flooded and emptied, we have the benefit of demonstrating all types of drying equipment from dehumidifiers to injection drying systems.

The space is ideal for any practical training from mould remediation to carpet cleaning as the rooms are large and well equipped. There are viewing windows so more people can be accommodated within a demonstration, and we have an 8m x 4m room split into a variety of different carpet types and underlays.    

Our bathroom demonstration area is aimed at leak detection to allow the use of acoustic & imaging cameras to locate leaks on pipes and has underfloor heating installed.

The house and classroom is available to book for private hire for your own training and research or in collaboration with us to tailor courses for you, please contact us to discuss requirements and prices.  

Our aim is to train industry professionals to use best practice and gain expertise on drying methods using relatable, practical techniques and demonstrations and provide a hub for research and development across the industry to help with cost saving measures.
