This is an in person course held on our site at Howbery Business Park in Wallingford.
This four-day course will equip the restorer with a level of knowledge and skills needed to attempt mould remediation, greatly expanding their professional capacity. Students will be submerged through a series of lectures, demonstrations and hands on exercises in a learning experience designed to be relevant and realistic.
The course covers the nature of the hazards of biological contamination of water damaged buildings (mould and bacteria) and the appropriate measures of remediation. Topics covered include:
- Environmental microbiology
- Moisture effects on buildings
- Remediation standards and relevant Health & Safety regulations
- Mould/Trauma scene/sewage
- Use of anti-microbials
- Containment methods and avoidance of cross-contamination
- Insurance issues
There is an optional two hour exam at the end of this course providing the student with an internationally recognised certification from the IICRC. However, students wishing to take this exam must have attended an IICRC WRT (Water Restoration Technician) course and have passed the WRT exam (£50 exam fee). (This will also give you qualification to dry out buildings and write ‘dry’ certificates too)
IICRC Water Restoration Technician course is a pre-requisite to obtain the full certification.
Course timings: 4 days 9am-5.30pm. Refreshments, Snacks and Lunch are included each day.
The Exam fee is £120 ex. VAT payable to the examining body the IICRC.
